January Work Party: Klingel-Bryan-Beard Wildlife Refuge

January 27 , 10:00 am 12:30 pm

Join the Great Peninsula Conservancy for our upcoming Stewardship Work Party!

What: Together we’ll remove invasive blackberry to protect our 2022 tree plantings! Learn more about our original planting project here: Planting for the future at Klingel-Bryan-Beard

Where: Klingel-Bryan-Beard Wetland Wildlife Refuge, 2091 NE Highway 300 Belfair, WA 98528

When: Saturday, January 27th from 10:00am-12:30pm

Accessibility: The work site will be immediately accessible behind a pedestrian gate from the parking area. We will be working primarily with our hands and hand tools such as loppers and rakes. The work will involve lopping thorny blackberry and piling it up. This will include movements such as squatting, bending and lifting. GPC will provide tools, gloves and eye protection.

What to bring: Please bring your own rain gear, close-toed boots, and other weather appropriate layers. It’s also advised to bring thicker pants and a tough jacket to protect yourself from thorns. A water bottle and snack are two great additions to any outdoor outing.
