Welcome to Newberry Woods Community Forest! Join Great Peninsula Conservancy, your local land trust, to explore this new 200-acre preserve. We’re going to hike through the forest, learn about the history of the land use, and discuss the current forest health.
What is a community forest? We’ll discuss the term and cover examples of other community forest models. Join us to tour the property in conjunction with our 3-part Community Forest Planning Meeting series.
At this third forest tour, conversation will include the goals, objectives, and community benefits discussed in the planning meetings. Attendees can see how the community’s ideas might look on the ground.
