May Work Party: Clear Creek Trail Clean-Up

May 25 , 10:00 am 12:30 pm

Join Great Peninsula Conservancy for our first installment of our “Tame the Trails” work party series at Clear Creek Trail.

Interested in stewarding a salmon bearing stream? Join GPC, Clean Kitsap, and the Clear Creek Task Force in picking up trash and litter along Clear Creek Trail.

Removing trash from these riparian zones removes potential pollutants from the creek system, supports the growth of important plant species, and, in doing so, supports the health of Clear Creek’s annual salmon run!

Meet us by the Clear Creek Interpretive Center on May 25th from 10:00 am-12:30 pm and make the most of your Saturday by making new friends and getting your good deed in for the weekend!

Volunteer Safety: In all activities in our community, safety comes first! Volunteers will be provided with safety gear and GPC Staff will conduct a short on-site safety orientation before we start. Please note we recommend this activity for volunteers ages 15+ and underage participants must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Accessibility: We recommend this event for volunteers who are able to walk at least 1-2 miles and feel comfortable with activities such as bending and lifting. While the trail is mostly flat and event, some areas where trash collects are just off-trail and will require stepping up and down sometimes steep banks. As with all GPC stewardship events, there are lots of ways to tailor a stewardship experience to your skill and comfort level. Let us know if you have any questions.
