GPC at Land Camp!

Keynote Speaker Jillene Joseph, Executive Director, Native Wellness Institute

For two engaging, schedule-packed days, Great Peninsula Conservancy staff went to the Northwest Land Camp in McMinnville, Oregon from June 28-29. Presented by the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts and Washington Association of Land Trusts, the Land Camp conference is an opportunity for land trusts and other organizations surrounding conservation to get together for opportunities to learn from one another and celebrate successes.

Speaker Mauricio Valadrian

Keynote speakers, workshops, roundtable discussions, a film festival, and mealtimes provided opportunities for people to discuss ways to grow with program capacity, increase public outreach, fundraise effectively, adapt to climate change, engage volunteers, create new partnerships, and increase access and inclusivity. People from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana gathered together over the two days to brainstorm new ideas, share stories of growth and wisdom, and support one another.

GPC Education Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA Jamie Webb communes with other Land Camp attendees.

GPC staff returned with a renewed vigor to apply their new knowledge and continue the work of conserving land, stewarding land, and connecting communities to land.
