Spring Cleaning at Newberry Woods Community Forest

April 12 , 10:00 am 12:30 pm

Where: Silverdale, WA

Join Great Peninsula Conservancy for spring cleaning at Newberry Woods Community Forest! Together we will be working to remove Scotch broom from the east portion of the forest. This work is vital to improve ecosystem function and to maintain this area as a public access space.

The Newberry Woods Community Forest spans 202 acres and contains 1.5 miles of the salmon-bearing Little Anderson Creek. This incredible forest, just north of the Newberry Hill Heritage Park, is home to trees that are over 100 years old and serves as a vital wildlife corridor to Hood Canal. It provides essential habitat for many birds, mammals, and other native wildlife. Newberry is one of our community forests, a natural space where conservation meets community need. Learn more about how we manage our community forests here.

Come be a part of this important conservation effort and help us preserve the beauty and health of Newberry Woods!
