Sounds of a Salmon Stream: Walk and Talk with Alan F. Jones

November 7, 2021, 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Sounds of a Salmon Stream

Join us for a Walk and Talk with local audio recordist and musician Alan F. Jones to discuss the field of acoustic ecology and his ongoing monitoring work at GPC’s Curley Creek Tyner Preserve. In 2020, Alan recorded the sounds of the Curley Creek with the goal of capturing the landscape’s unique “acoustic fingerprint!” Take a walk with Alan to learn what his recordings revealed about the Curley Creek Tyner Preserve and how the field of acoustic ecology informs his work as a musician and as an advocate for land preservation. Event attendance is limited, sign up today!
