Land Labs Volunteer Training
July 15 , 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Arness Roadside Park, Kingston, Washington
Want to get outside and share your love of nature with local youth? GPC’s Land Labs program is calling all volunteers interested in helping with its summer field trip series. No experience needed! We’ll teach you everything you need to know at our next Land Labs Volunteer Educator Training on Monday, July 15th from 10am-1pm. The training will focus on how best to support youth as they engage in real-world science questions out on GPC preserves.
Our upcoming summer outings will focus on beach exploration including crab identification, whale research, Olympia oyster restoration and so much more! If you love hitting the beach and sharing your wonder of the natural world then volunteering to help kids with this lesson is for you.
This training will prepare volunteers to help with future Land Lab activities including GPC’s Summer of Stillwaters family-friendly events on July 20th. Learn more HERE!
Can’t attend the training but still want to support the program? Email Gabriel Newton, GPC’s community engagement coordinator about getting set up to volunteer at one of our upcoming field experiences. New to Land Labs? Be sure to complete our Land Labs Volunteer Interest Form to get updates about when our next training will be held.
Accessibility: This event will take place on a rock and sand shoreline. There will be minimal hiking involved (~1/8 of a mile). We recommend bringing a lawn chair as we’ll be stopping frequently for discussion.
