Klingel Stewardship Series – Site Maintenance

May 14, 2022, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Volunteers needed for GPC’s Klingel Stewardship Series!

Join Great Peninsula Conservancy (GPC) for our final stage in the Klingel Stewardship Series! Klingel-Bryan-Beard Wetland Wildlife Refuge hosts scenic and ecologically sensitive tidal saltmarsh and grassland habitats, home to a variety of animals such as juvenile salmon and great blue heron. GPC’s stewardship work at Klingel will be accomplished in three steps: 1) preparing the site for planting, 2) planting 5,000 native shrubs and trees in January 2022, and 3) maintaining the site after planting. With your help, GPC can restore native, climate-resilient species in this special shoreline habitat!

We will be at our Klingel-Bryan-Beard Wetland Wildlife Refuge on May 14th to maintain the 5,000 trees that we planted in January! We need your support to keep the weeds out and the trees healthy!

Activities:

  • Removing invasive blackberry and scotch broom.
  • Remember to dress in warm layers and pack rain gear. Bring loppers if you have them!
  • Tools and snacks will be provided.
