Grovers Creek Preserve Native Conifer Planting Party
March 9, 2019, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST! WE HAVE REACHED OUR TARGET NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS EVENT AND SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED! STAY TUNED FOR OTHER GPC VOLUNTEER EVENTS THROUGH OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA!
Join Great Peninsula Conservancy’s Stewardship Manager, Erik Pedersen, for a morning of tree planting. The focus of the work party is to restore underrepresented native conifers (cedar, hemlock, and spruce) to the Grovers Creek Preserve. This is a great family event, but we will only be able to accomodate 15-20 volunteers. Sign up today to make sure we count you on the list and can answer any questions you might have before the event.
WHERE TO MEET: Meet Erik in the North Kitsap Heritage Park parking lot on Miller Bay Road.
WHAT TIME: 9 am – 12 pm (Please arrive before 9:15 so you can be led out to the planting area)
WHAT TO BRING: Bring your shovel, a pair of work gloves, and a pair of boots you don’t mind getting muddy.
NOTE: This planting event will be held in a forested area without trails. Expect uneven terrain.
